WHO IS KANE SENIOR COUNCIL?
While Kane Senior Council is a new organization, we have DEEP ROOTS in the senior community. In fact, our roots go back to 1974 when the DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) began advocating and providing services for seniors in need in DuPage County, Illinois.
To learn more about DSCC, please visit the DSCC website.
For nearly 50 years, DSCC has provided meals and Well-Being Checks in DuPage County. Over the years, as the needs of seniors grew, DSCC expanded services beyond delivering meals. Now, DSCC provides services such as senior educational programs, friendly visits, home repairs and more to help seniors live a healthier and more independent life.
FORMERLY SALVATION ARMY GOLDEN DINERS PROGRAM
Beginning in March 2018, Kane Senior Council picked up where the SALVATION ARMY GOLDEN DINERS program left off.
Kane Senior Council began delivering meals to homebound seniors in Kane County. In addition to home delivered meals, our team of volunteers also perform well-being checks to each senior served to make sure they are ok and are not in need of additional care.
